About
Simply nomadic. How else to explain how we live?
Two years ago we sold the house and virtually everything in it. The bicycles and what little else remained now fits into a Honda Element.
How did we do it? Why did we do it?
Curious by nature and shaped by a large family, I want to bring you along on the journey. I’ll write about our travels — past and present — along with musings on bicycling, travel, urban planning, active transportation, advocacy, minimalism, public art, wildlife and whatever else I find on the way.
I’d love to connect with people who are creating new ways to explore this fantastic world whether that be as a traveler, someone deeply rooted to place or anywhere in between. My hope is to trigger ideas that will inspire people to take some chances in their own life beyond what complacency would bring and to learn from others as they build their own unique path.
Eileen, I was challenged to do the 5 photo, 5 story challenge. As part of the challenge rules, I need to nominate another blogger each day. The rules are 5 pics (easy, right) and a story attached: fiction, non-fiction, or just a paragraph. Are you up for that?I thought of you since you have so many great photos on your blog 🙂

Why the heck not?? I am going to stall my first day until Wednesday though – when I start the 30 Days of Biking challenge. Expect to see lots of bike posts this week.

sounds awesome! Yes, after I was challenged I waited a few days and got some ideas ahead before I started.

Hello from Türkiye… just wanted to say “thank you”, I appreciate your recent ‘follow’, knowing how many interesting and entertaining blogs there are out there.
Blogging since June 2013, my little corner of the world tries to offer an eclectic smattering of posts, from basic amateur photography, to sharing my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day-to-day happenings here on our fruit farm in southern Turkey. I also throw in a few of my observations on life and lighter-hearted stuff for good measure.
You are more than welcome to have a look around, stay a while and have a trawl through my collection. There are plenty of categories within the drop-down menus to help in said digging process.
Hope you have a great day…

My husband and I lived in UT for 8 years – explored National Parks, went camping and backpacking and he fell in love with mountain biking. Such a beautiful part of our country – love your photos!

Hi Eileen, I’m so glad I found you, you are living very much what my husband and I plan/hope to do, sooner rather than later I hope! I look forward to following your travels and am sure I’ll get a lot of inspiration from you. In the meantime I’m mostly stationary and decided to blog about where I live now to ensure I get the most out of exploring every corner whilst I’m here. Siobhan

Thanks – we are really fortunate to be able to live as we do. I do think everyone can find interesting places to explore and fascinating people to meet wherever they live – especially Paris! I’m looking forward to diving deeper into the City of Lights with you.

You guys are the type of travelers that my adventurous self wishes I was but my practical self won’t let me be. 🙂 Can’t wait to read more about your lives and travels!

You have a lifetime of adventures ahead of you already! Our crazy lifestyle isn’t for everyone but parts of it can be done in bits and pieces.

Giving up everything to live a nomadic life? What a reckless, crazy, absolutely wonderful thing to do! I don’t know if I would ever be brave enough to go that far but in the meantime I can live vicariously through you! 🙂

Nice to meet another minimalistic nomad! It is the best way of life. But, of course, I am bias… All our belongings fit into our Toyota Prius as we “move” from place to place. 🙂

If we didn’t have so many dang bikes we might be able to do a Prius. It’d be tight though…

I have seen Prius’s with a bike rack on the bumper. Two bikes max probably, though… 🙂

We’ve had up to 5 including my folding bike while traveling. At some point we will pare down the number…

I am surprised at some of the overlap. We’ve been on the Via Verde de la Sierra during a trip to Sevilla.
