Picture Postcard – Madeline Island

The shoreline can be stark in the Apostle Islands.

Madeline Island is the largest and the only inhabited island of the Lake Superior’s 22 Apostle Islands. It is also the only island that is not part of the Apostle Island National Lakeshore. Accessible by ferry, the island has a small town that caters to summer tourists and parkland that is preserved for future generations.

Welcome to my series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting once a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
