Picture Postcard – Ambergris Caye Belize

In celebration of my friend Jeanna’s trip to Belize, this week’s postcard is from our visit to Ambergris Caye in the fall of 2015.

The town of San Pedro doesn’t have wide expanses of sandy beach but it parallels the second longest barrier reef in the world. Snorkeling and diving are readily accessible via a short boat ride to Hol Can Marine Reserve and other local spots along the reef.

In lieu of a travel guide, you can read about our Coffeenuering adventures and time share escapades on the island. My shout outs go to: The Conch Shell Inn and their manager, Viviana, who is a wonderful host and the reason we extended our stay by a week. Nook Restaurant, just a couple doors down on the beach, had great food options for us and lots of interesting conversations with the owners Jeff and Erin.

Welcome to a new series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting once a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
