Picture Postcard – Big Basin Redwoods State Park

The trees towered above us, some over 300 feet tall!

No trip to northern California is complete without a visit to the Redwoods. These giants hug the coastline and can be best seen in one of the state or national parks. Muir Woods, just north of San Francisco, is the most famous park but also the most crowded. Big Basin Redwoods State Park, in Santa Cruz County, can accommodate more visitors on any given day.

Welcome to my series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting once a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
