Picture Postcard – La Paz Mexico
Promenades around the world tell the story of seaside cities.
The Malecon in La Paz, Mexico speaks mainly of the sea with a series of public art sculptures. Over a century ago, La Paz enjoyed a strong harvest of pearls. Mexico was once the foremost supplier to the world before the natural oyster beds were depleted in the early 1900’s. This sculpture along the waterfront harkens back to that history reflecting the beauty that is modern La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur.
Welcome to a new series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting once a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
