Picture Postcard – Minneapolis’ Stadium
It’s finally open and the fans are pouring in.
A weekend of preview tours had curious locals lined up in the rain. The new US Bank Stadium, home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, officially opened with a sold-out soccer exhibition game last week. We came out for US Bank Family Day thanks to a friend with tickets to spare – it’s pretty unlikely we’ll be paying the price to actually see a game here but now we’ve seen the private club levels and sat in 50 yard line seats.
This is the masthead on the “Legacy Ship” being installed on the plaza. The boat and sail/LED screen aren’t quite complete but I’m sure it will be done in time for Super Bowl 2018.
Welcome to a new series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting once a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
