Picture Postcard – La Fortuna Costa Rica
Arenal Volcano is always present in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.
La Fortuna is home base for the many tourists spending time near the Arenal Volcano National Park and the surrounding rain forest. The name stems from the good fortune that the town was not destroyed by the erupting volcano.

We were there last year. However, it was cloudy the entire time we were there, so we never saw the volcano!

I had to keep watching for the fleeting moments when it was clear. We got lucky here and it was fairly dry for our stay.
