Picture Postcard – Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument
Midway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe is Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks National Monument.
Designated as a National Monument in 2001, Tent Rocks has several hiking trail options. The easy Cave Loop Trail is 1.2 miles while the more challenging 3 mile out-and-back Canyon Trail brings hikers through slot canyons and presents a climb to the mesa top. The trailhead is accessed off of Interstate 25 along a bumpy dirt road that travels within Pueblo de Cochiti. We visited in September of 2006 and it definitely piqued our interest in exploring the hoodoos in Utah.
Welcome to a new series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting twice a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
