Picture Postcard – Sevilla
The Plaza de España is an iconic tourist photo destination in the heart of Sevilla.
Located within the Parque de María Luisa, the Plaza showcased the provinces of Spain for the 1929 Ibero-American Expo. Government offices are now housed here against the backdrop of beautiful, detailed tilework. Bridges over the moat represent the four ancient kingdoms of Spain and camera-toting Spaniards search among the 48 alcoves to find their home province for a portrait backdrop.
Welcome to a new series of travel postcards that I’ll be posting twice a week. Click on the card for a larger view.
