Street Art – Los Angeles

Thanks to Samatha at fictionwriterwithablog  for nominating me to do the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge. This is Day 2.

Bunny Explosion By Max Neutra

Los Angeles has an incredible amount of street art – some legit commissions and others are bandit art works. This particular piece is on Abbot Kinney Blvd in the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles. I choose this photo after hearing more information on it via Art and Seeking‘s audio tour. According to tour guide Lizy Dastin, the work by artist, Max Neutra, is a bandit piece but the building owners liked it and kept it. Subsequently the building has been sold so there is no guarantee that the piece will remain.

You can see it has been tagged which over time makes it more likely the wall will be painted over. I don’t really know what is street art etiquette over canvas space. This wall on Venice Beach is ever changing.

The Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge rules require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you. (I am choosing to add extra photos on some of the posts…)

Then each day, nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge. Today I nominate Bonny at Thoughts and Things

Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command.
